Busy, Busy, Busy

That is the theme of my life these days. Here's a quick pictorial update of all that we have been up to these last few weeks.

Keeping up with Miss Emma is a huge one lately. She runs, not walks, every where and is into exploring everything. While visiting some dear friends who were camping last weekend, Emma fought the camper and the camper won.

She took a tumble out of the door and slid down the steps face first and has the marks to prove it. Mommy felt pretty bad about that one, but she's a real trooper. I'm happy to report that she has healed nicely and is almost back to normal already.

We have also been very occupied with swimming lessons every Saturday for the last six weeks. Although the water was pretty chilly, Emma enjoyed splashing around with the other kids. She was accompanied by mom, dad, Grandma Kirschner and even Aunt Jessica once.

During the week, we've spent lots of time pool side as well (inflatable that is!). It's been hot around here and Emma has had lots of fun swimming with her buddies AA (Aiden) and GaGa (Gavin). The kids love to be out doors and it's so fun to watch them interact. We're going to miss them this summer!

She spends lots of time running around with just bottoms on in order to get rid of some nasty heat rash the poor girly has been dealing with. I'd let her go with just a diaper, but she'd have the thing off in no time!

Daddy finished Emma's little cabin this week as well and I can hardly keep her out of it. I won't let him hook up electricity because then I may never be able to get her into the house!

We also spend a ton of time outside when we get home at night. We have ice cream on the deck. Emma and I take our babies for walks :) Walks tend to take a long time, since someone must stop to examine everything- flowers, ant hills, rocks, etc.

I have also been extremely busy with our garage sale. After my step-mom passed away, we hauled a ton of her stuff to my house. I wanted to be able to help my dad out in some small way. I knew she liked clothes, but never truly appreciated how much stuff she had until it was all in my garage. Our first sale wasn't too successful due to weather, but we are planning on doing another one next weekend.

Most days someone ends up filthy from her head....

to her toes. We wrap up our busy day with a quick bath and some snuggle time before bed. I love these days filled with sunshine, friends, laughter, and love. I wouldn't trade them for the world!

Happy Mother's Day

I love being a mommy. While there are tempertantrums, dirty diapers, and sleeples nights (among other things) to contend with, one little smile or hug from Emma makes it all worthwhile. She brightens my day and I wouldn't trade my title for anything.

Today I'd like to say thank-you to my mom who is one of a kind. We've butted heads over the years (cause she's so darn stubborn :) and shared many boughts of laughter and tears. She has been with me through it all. Even when she's tired, or busy, or dealing with her own issues, she selflessly gives to me and those around her. There are not even words to describe how truly wonderful she is. The boys couldn't have hand-picked a better mom, and we all know Emma loves her grandma. I am blessed to be her daughter and look forward to all the memories we have yet to make together. Thank you for all you are and all you do, today and always.

DHS Girl's Getaway

My friends from high school and I were finally able to schedule a trip to go away for the night together "just because". We have seen each other on and off for various showers, weddings, and the birth of babies since graduation, but we haven't had a chance to get the whole group together simply for some R and R while we catch up on each other's lives.

Once everyone had arrived Friday evening, we had a houseful consisting of seven adults and three kids ages 5, 2 and 1. Not only did I get to enjoy the company of my four closest high school buddies, but I also had my mom and her friend Cate in attendance. We spent lots of time eating, chatting, eating, playing games, eating.... you get the picture :) We definitely didn't spend much time sleeping. I think I got a grand total of four and a half hours. What can I say- our time was limited and I wanted to make the most of it.

Big thanks to my mom for coming along and cooking, cleaning and playing Grandma to all. You are the best! I'm glad the munchkins were able to come and play together as well. New bonds were formed in a few hours.

Even though we live far apart and lead separate lives, it was wonderful to come together to reminisce about the old days and chat about the future. Our friends help shape us and mold us to the people we are today. Getting together just reminds me how important you all are in my life and how much I miss each one for you! Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedule to do this- I hope we can do it again in the future.

Quick Update on a Busy Weekend

Whew, it was a crazy-busy weekend at the Klein household. We had a dinner for Jessica (my sis-in-law) on Friday night to celebrate her impending graduation. Since my mom was in town to so graciously to baby-sit, Jason and I spent some time perusing G.R. after the dinner which made for a late night. Then we were up and off again on Saturday morning to attend the GVSU graduation. Emma and I had a low key evening when we returned home since we were both exhausted and I hadn't spent much time with her in the last 24 hours. Grandma sure wore her out- she slept 12 and a half hours that night! Guess we need to have grandma baby-sit more often :) On Sunday we headed down to Tulip Time after church to take in the festivities. It was a bit cool and Emma was a little grumpy, but it was some great (much needed :) family time.

Jess all ready to graduate- we're so proud of you. Congratualtions Class of 2010!

Possibly one of the only pics I will get off Miss Emma standing still at Tulip Time this year!

Emma "smelling" the tulips. She was actually breathing through her nose, but she was exhailing instead if inhaling. It was very cute although I was very nervous for the tulips with her being so close!

Walking around with Grandma and Aunt Jessica all dressed up.

Emma was buzzing around the house with her baby while waiting patiently for mommy to get all our stuff together to head to Tulip Time after church Sunday morning. You can see those little feet in motion!
