Easter Fun and Festivities

Emma decorated eggs for the first time this year- I wasn't ready to give her dye yet though. We went with good ol' craft paint.
I think they turned out pretty cute. She wanted to decorate one for daddy, mommy, herself and Harley (our dog).
We were also able to meet the Easter bunny. She wasn't too sure about sitting on her lap until she realized candy was involved. Then she climbed on up and said cheese :)
All dressed up for church on Easter.
She found a basket full of goodies when we came home. There were also a few eggs for her to find. she loved hunting for them!
The we changed and got ready to meet with the Klein side for lunch. She loves her new dress from Papa Spence.
After we ate, she had another egg hunt. This one was outside. She loved it so much she wanted to do it again.
We made her sit on the porch and close her eyes so we could re-hide the eggs. I think she would have done it over and over again if we let her!

Our family had a wonderful day gathering with others and celebrating the sacrifice that was made for us. What an amazing gift we have been given!

Cleaning Up

I asked Miss Emma to pick up her toys so I could vacuum. Meaning the little ones, things that were in the middle of the floor. Stuff that was at risk. I come into the living room to find this:
Silly kid picked up every toy in the living room and put it on the couch... I must remember my little tot takes things quite literally!

Thinking Spring!

Michigan is finally warming up! We've spent lots of days outside soaking up the sunshine. Emma loves to ride her scooter she got for Christmas.
She loves to ride her quad as well.
This year she is much better at maneuvering around. She did try to scale the rocks- wonder where she got that idea from???
We have also made many trips to feed the ducks. Our family is really looking forward to summer and all the fun activities that come with it- playing outdoors, camping, swimming, flip flops, ice cream stops and so much more!

Do Over

You know the kind of days I'm referring to- the ones where things just don't go right and you wish you could hit a rewind button to start over. Or a fast forward to move on to the next day....

I had high hopes for this week, with it being spring break and only needing to watch extra munchkins on Wednesday. I had our whole week mapped out. In the end, very few things on our list took place. For multiple reasons. The biggest one being a certain two year old in our house.

Let me start off by saying that everyone is lacking in the sleep department around here. The trucking business is going well, but it also means late night phone calls. My hubby's nerves are shot. We're in the adjustment period of being new business owners. There are so many things to keep track of, lists that need to be checked off. I am totally a list girl, but it'd be nice for someone to provide that list for me- it's hard to be sure all our bases are covered!

Then there's my little undies sportin' gal. Some days she does great, stays dry all day long. Then there's days where we change clothes, sheets, even my pillowcase. This week has been filled more with the latter. I'm partially to blame for this since I haven't been real strict in the diaper vs undies department. At times she wants nothing to do with undies and at other times that's all she wants to wear. I have let her take the lead, but haven't been so good about following through. There are days when asking her to sit on the potty sends her into a furious tornado of kicking and screaming....

I think we have hit the stage where she is trying to exhibit her independence. If I tell her no, she's going to continue. The speed in which she carries out her misbehavior is phenomenal. For example, yesterday she had the bag of Craisins out for an afternoon snack. When she was all done she asked me to close the bag up for her. As soon as I had it closed and told her to put it away, she said she wanted just one more. When I said no, she had the bag open and a handful of them in her mouth before I could blink.

Twice this week she has peed when I put her in time out- once in my living room chair and once in her bed. As soon as the timer goes off she gets out of time out, comes and apologizes and then tells me she has peed. She's just stating the facts. No remorse at all. Almost like a payback for putting her in time out. That is when I have to take a deep breath, remind myself she is only two, set her on the potty and go clean up the mess left behind.

The biggest problem is I'm a planner. It's not always possible with a toddler in the house. There are going to be surprises, messes, upsets. I have to keep reminding myself it won't be this way forever. And I need to appreciate each day that I have. She won't be two for much longer. The best part of my day is taking her up to bed- not because she is sleeping and I'll have time to myself. I love the snuggling, reading books, singing and saying our prayers before bed. Moments like those are fleeting. I have to cherish every one.

Besides, who couldn't love a mug like this???

Business Adventures Aboud!

As some of you know, I started up my own etsy page back in the beginning of March.
I learned how to make these beautiful roses during on of my MOP's meetings.
I had so much fun, that I came home and continued to play around with fabric. Eventually my hubby told me I needed to do something with my overabundance of flowers and Rosies and Posies was born! These are just a few of the flowers I have made. I still have a lot of work to do- it takes a lot of time to post things on etsy, but there are many more flowers to come.

We also added another addition to our home in March:

Since my husband works for a local hog farmer and plans to take over the family farm someday, he thought hog haulin' would be a wise investment for our family. He purchased the truck and trailer right before we left for vacation. Our driver will be picking up his first load tonight! The whole adventure has been exciting (and maybe a tad bit nerve racking).

Here's the big rig!
We took Emma for a ride this weekend before the truck becomes farmifide (read- messy and stinky inside :)
I knew I married a farmer, but never dreamed that I would marry a trucker!
Emma loved hanging out on the bed in the back. Apparently she thought we were going for a really long ride- she told me she was planning on sleeping back there.

We are really looking forward to see how this works out for  us. Praying everything goes well for our driver tonight as he heads to Indiana!
