Happy Easter!

Easton may not have been a fan, but Emma looks forward to seeing him every year. Remember the gift that was given to us this day- far better than any chocolate bunnies or sugary sweet. Hope everyone has a blessed Easter!

Glorious Sunshine and Warm(er) Temps are Here!

So thrilled we got to spend some time outside today soaking up some vitamin D- this momma needs the time outside as much as the kiddos! We took some time cleaning up toys that have gotten filthy during barn demolition around here as well as just having some good ol' fun.
Someone's getting a little more sturdy on two feet everyday!

First bike ride of the season :)
Thank you God for the promise of summer and many outdoor adventures to come!

Great Wolf Lodge

We were able to take a mini getaway this past weekend with our awesome friends and neighbors the Meistes. It was a much needed vacay and probably the only one we'll get this year aside from our lone camping trip in June so I was determined to enjoy it despite my hubby's sour mood about being in the car for 3 hours.

We took our time getting there, stopping for breakfast and a little bit of shopping before checking in. I love how well the Meiste children behave in the store- Brad got all of them to line up and sit quietly in the front of the store while we looked around. Too bad I can't get Emma to do this for me, it was the most peaceful shopping I've done in a long time :)

Once we arrived, we threw our stuff in the room and hit the slides. Emma loved every minute in the water park, plus the all the extra activities they have available for little people. I don't think we could manage more than a night there- the waterpark can only hold everyone's attention for so long. Easton is a but young to really enjoy the water and all it had to offer too.

I tried to get a few pictures to capture all the fun that was had, but the lighting in the water park and my camera did not get along. Here's a few that kind of turned out..

All ready to go splash around
I'd say she's having fun...
Since he couldn't ride on any of the slides, he spent most of his time playing in the fountains.
We also had some fun in the arcade
Enjoying story time before bed

Getting hugs from Violet
Monday morning we had a nutritious donut breakfast. We picked them up on the way to Traverse City- they are monstrous things, the size of dinner plates. Needless to say our family couldn't finish one between the four of us!
What a messy girl!
I made Easton eat a banana to balance out his sugar intake- the kid shoved half of it in his mouth at once!

Hitting the slides one more time before we go.

'Look right here little brother'
Emma wanted to take advantage of all the photo ops before we could leave.

Overall we had a great time. Easton was sick by Sunday night so he was a little miserable, but otherwise everything went well. We decided to take a leisurely route home as well, stopping in a little diner for lunch and enjoying some new sights on the way home. Thanks to the Meistes for suggesting this fun excursion, we'll have to do it again sometime!

Excited to Announce...

Well, most of us are anyway. It looks like Easton is thinking, 'Seriously mom, another one?!?'

Patiently Waiting...

A lot has happened to the Klein family in the last 6 months. We moved. Became landlords. Renovated a house- while living in it. Celebrated many first's with our baby Easton, including a birthday. And discovered we're expecting baby number three this summer!

I will officially be 5 months into this pregnancy come Sunday. The time has completely escaped me. I (finally) look pregnant and I can't say I'll ever miss that awkward in-between stage. The one that leaves people wondering, 'Is she preggo or just packing on the pounds?' For the longest time the only thing that reminded me of the tiny life growing in utero was morning all day sickness. AW.FUL. Thank goodness that's gone, another pregnancy side effect I won't miss.

With Emma, she was my first pregnancy. Everything was new and there were no other distractions. I still had morning sickness, minor aches and pains along with trouble sleeping. But there were no other kids at home demanding my attention. For the last few months of my pregnancy school was out so my main endeavor was solely focused on her.

It took two years for us to conceive Easton. After 3 years of raising Emma, I felt like I needed to reread my edition of What to Expect When You're Expecting all over again. I'll admit I didn't read it cover to cover this time, but I did feel like I needed a refresher. I tried so hard to cherish every moment of my second pregnancy because I thought there was a good chance it could be my last.

And now we're expecting baby #3... I'll admit I don't even have a clue where my book is. Many days I forget that I'm growing a life because I have two lives already that consume my days. That does not mean I'm ungrateful for the gift God is giving us. Apprehensive maybe, but not unenthused. My days are so full, I wonder how I can possibly be responsible for one more little person? I love mommyhood, but it sure is a lot of work!

Tomorrow afternoon we get to find out whether we'll be bringing another boy or girl home this July. I have a long list or pros and cons for each, but all I really want is a healthy little one. I know either way God has it all planned out. He already knows the how much you mean to us sweet baby. We can't wait to meet you- when you take your first breathe while you take our breathe away.

Disney on Ice

My mom and I surprised Miss Emma this weekend with a trip to VanAndel. She knew we were going to do something special, but that was the extent of it. When we got to our seats the show was just starting. Emma sat there in awe while Aladdin skated around the arena. Then she looked at me with this expression of pure astonishment and asked me if we were at Disney World. While I longed to say yes, I knew this would only get me off the hook for a short period of time (she asks every other day when we're going to Disney). While that is a trip we plan to make, it's part of the 5+ year plan :)

Easton loved it too. He sat absolutely still for the first half of the show, which is a complete feat for him if you know our little busy body! Towards the intermission he was clapping continuously which was too cute. I'm so glad he did well, I was a little nervous taking him along. I told Jason that the show was worth every penny. Emma loved every minute of it and can't wait for the next opportunity to see her favorite characters.

Office Adoration

Can I just say I love my new office?!? Big thanks to my step-dad who was able to customize this room to fit our needs. Jason has a work station, I have an area to get my craft on and the middle island is a perfect place for Emma to keep busy while I'm catching up on paperwork.

And when the room is trashed, with papers and scraps everywhere and no time to pick up, I can just close the door for the time being :)
